Corned beef

Hilarious satirical article on the tinned good (or tinned BAD as the case may be)...
Government health advisor Dr Roy Hobbs said: “We are aware that there is some rank shit out there.
...But we can’t ban these horrible foods because they are popular with pensioners and also the kind of quiet loners that expose themselves on public transport."

When in the Dam... eat here...

This is the restaurant QLB Food-Lovers (not foodies, as we’re not over 40) went to on their latest trip to the wonderful and extremely creative world of The Dam!! This incredible restaurant is a little gem, nestled in Amsterdam’s extremely grey industrial area, which looks almost embarrassingly as though it is directly lifted from 1984. The eatery itself is located in an enormous warehouse, beautifully decorated with interesting lighting and of course your standard speed boats and super cars. Why not.

This place is not just about the venue though- the food is absolutely to die for- the kitchen serves a range of European dishes in generous portions and wines to suit even your most self-important connoisseur.

QLB Food definitely recommends:

Tasteless misery sand

COUSCOUS!!
'The food so nice they named it twice....'
Or a more recent description that made us ROTFLYSST (roll on the floor laughing yet somehow still typing) was Mark from Peep show's characteristically morbid description of his girlfriends lovingly prepared couscous lunch in the latest series...

"My tupperware box of tasteless misery sand"....

The 'Dobster' even leaves love notes for Mark saying things such as 'Be-cous I love you.'

But Couscous doesn't have to be all bad depending on how much of a flair you have in the kitchen for turning the 'tasteless' into the 'tasty'

Just adding stock brings loads of flavour to your couscous, then add in anything you find in the fridge/cupboards... veg, nuts, raisins, meats, spice... anything you fancy... and the result is usually a very tasty, very healthy culinary delight ;) Don't knock it till you've tried it!

Try one of THESE RECIPES if you're stuck for inspiration!...Happy cooking!

Spam .. for human consumption?

"do humans eat that?..."

The best quote we've heard on spam to date!

A completely valid question, no?

SPAM, the American product which has inspired both obsession and revulsion.. Definitely a Love/Hate thing we think! But defiantly NOT a health thing ;)

"Long have my arteries clogged to the sound,
of sizzling SPAM when there's no one around -
furtively chewing or swallowing whole.
Triple bypass by forty, my medical goal."
